Airborne diseases are infections that spread through the air by respiratory droplets or small particles that can remain suspended in the air for an extended period. These diseases are primarily transmitted when an infected person coughs, sneezes, talks, or breathes, releasing infectious agents into the air. Common airborne diseases include influenza, tuberculosis, measles, and COVID-19. The risk of transmission is higher in crowded or enclosed spaces where ventilation is poor. Preventive measures such as vaccination, wearing masks, proper ventilation, and practicing good respiratory hygiene play crucial roles in controlling the spread of airborne diseases. Public health efforts focus on raising awareness, implementing effective hygiene practices, and developing strategies to mitigate the impact of these diseases on global health.
