Tropical and neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) are a group of infections that predominantly affect populations in tropical and subtropical regions, often exacerbated by poverty and limited access to healthcare. Tropical and neglected tropical diseases include conditions like malaria, dengue, leprosy, and schistosomiasis, which can lead to long-term disabilities, economic hardship, and social stigma. These diseases are often neglected in terms of research and resources, making them difficult to control or eradicate. Addressing NTDs requires a comprehensive approach, including improving sanitation, providing access to medicines, and promoting vector control programs. Collaboration between governments, NGOs, and international organizations is crucial for tackling these diseases and reducing their burden on affected communities.
