The diverse nature of bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections presents unique challenges in diagnosis and treatment. Bacterial infections, ranging from strep throat to sepsis, are commonly treated with antibiotics, but the growing issue of resistance threatens their effectiveness. Fungal infections, such as histoplasmosis and cryptococcosis, often affect immunocompromised individuals and may require long-term antifungal therapy. Meanwhile, parasitic infections, including schistosomiasis and toxoplasmosis, continue to burden millions in endemic areas. These infections not only impact individual health but also strain healthcare systems, emphasizing the need for improved surveillance, rapid diagnostic tools, and innovative therapies to combat their spread and severity.
