Biography:
Sayantani Datta is a third-year doctoral candidate in the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology at IIT Kharagpur, working under the supervision of Dr. Somdeb Bose Dasgupta. Her research focuses on host–pathogen interactions in the context of mycobacterial pathogenesis. She investigates signalling crosstalk that governs macrophage immune responses, with particular emphasis on the host factor Coronin-1 and its role in mycobacterial persistence. Her work aims to uncover mechanistic insights into immune regulation and identify potential host-directed therapeutic targets for tuberculosis.
